2012 Ferrari-Carano Pinot Grigio

2012 Ferrari-Carano Pinot Grigio

Sonoma County

With its delicate aromas and delicious flavors, our 2012 Ferrari-Carano Pinot Grigio is a refreshing, light-style white wine for sipping or as an aperitif. This wine has aromas of nectarine, lime, melon and honeysuckle complemented by flavors of Meyer lemon, white peach and honeydew melon. Our Pinot Grigio has clean, refreshing acidity with a round mouthfeel and a crisp, lingering finish.

Vintage Notes

Grapes from select vineyard in Russian River Valley, Napa Valley Carneros, Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley create this refreshing, aromatic wine.

Winemaker Notes

Individual lots of hand-harvested Pinot Grigio grapes are gently whole-cluster pressed to minimize any color or harsh tannin extraction, then racked to stainless steel tanks for a cold fermentation. This wine does not undergo malolactic fermentation in order to retain its bright flavors and crisp acidity. Depth and complexity increased with weekly lees stirring until bottling.

Food Pairing

Pinot Grigio is an ideal wine to pair with many types of cuisines. Our favorite pairings include dishes such as seafood salad, pan-seared scallops, oysters on the half shell, or entrées with lively and spicy flavors one might find in Asian cuisine.
