2008 Dominique Chardonnay - Russian River Valley [ $38 ] BUY THIS WINE
Ferrari-Carano’s 2008 Dominique Chardonnay (“Dominique” is Rhonda Carano’s middle name) is terroir-driven with full, rich aromas of citrus, quince, vanilla, pear, fig, and graham cracker, complemented by flavors of apple, lemon, peach, nutmeg, cream and a lingering, toasty maple finish. Bright acidity with layers of intense flavors characterizes this beautiful wine.

Vintage Notes
The fruit for this wine comes from a single vineyard alongside a creek in one of the coolest regions of the Russian River Valley, an area known for producing some of the world’s best Chardonnays. A year of fire and ice, we began 2008 battling heavy frost in April, a hot summer and heat continuing into the early fall. Reduced yields but intensely flavored, well-balanced, ripe fruit was the happy result of a very challenging growing season. The Chardonnay grapes for Tre Terre were picked on September 29th.

Winemakers Notes
A single vineyard site with four Chardonnay clones comprises our 2008 Dominique Chardonnay. Each lot for this wine is hand harvested, whole cluster pressed and within 24 hours moved directly to barrels. Aged separately by lot, the wine undergoes 70 percent malolactic fermentation and is sur lie aged and stirred weekly for 10 months until blending, and then further aged in neutral barrels until bottling five months later.
