Aromas & Flavors
This is a delicious, full‐bodied Chardonnay with aromas and flavors of Meyer lemon, citrus, apple, graham cracker, creamy marshmallow, peach, apricot, pear, brown sugar and spice. Trè Terre is a wine with bright fruit, nice acidity and a long, lingering finish.
This wine’s rich fruit component complements mildly spiced vegetarian dishes and rich, creamy shellfish entrées. It also works well with veal, poultry, pasta and rice.
How It's Made
Each lot for this wine is hand harvested, whole-cluster pressed, then barrel fermented with native and cultured yeast. The wine completes 74% malolactic fermentation and is sur lie aged and stirred weekly for four and a half months. The final blend was assembled in June 2018, and the wine is barreled again in neutral oak until bottling, for a total of almost 15.5 months of barrel aging. All vineyard lots are treated separately until blending.
The 2017 season began with much-needed record rainfall during the winter months, followed by a mild spring, then a very warm summer, including a scorching hot Labor Day heat spike and unusual rain in September. It finally cooled off into early fall. Overall it was a challenging harvest, but diligent attention in the vineyards led to the perfect blend of aromas and flavors that we desire in our wines.
