Aromas & Flavors
This wine has delicious aromas and flavors of orange blossom, pear, vanilla, honeysuckle, marshmallow, vibrant tropical fruit, coconut, fresh peach, papaya and floral notes.
Our Viognier pairs well with spicy cuisines such as Thai or Vietnamese. This wine is also delicious with sushi, sashimi and French cheeses.
How It's Made
The hand-harvested Viognier grapes are gently whole-cluster pressed and then cold settled for 2 days in stainless steel tanks before moving into barrels. This wine undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation and is aged in new, one-year-old French oak barrels. The wine is sur lie aged and stirred every 2 weeks until bottling.
2018 was a very good year with ideal weather conditions for the vines. Spring produced great set, and average rainfalls led to normal to above-normal yields. Consistently warm temperatures during the summer months without any drastic heat spikes or rain events allowed for longer “hang time” for the grapes, which led to fully ripe flavors.
