“The trademark of Ferrari-Carano is our people, our vineyards and the positive family team spirit we all share. It's really not a company, per se, but a large family who has grown together over the years and understands the philosophy and direction of what makes Ferrari-Carano world-class.”
Rhonda is Owner/CEO of Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery. Rhonda and her late husband, Don Carano, visited Sonoma County, California, in the late 1970s on a wine-buying trip for their hotel/casino, the Eldorado, in Reno, Nevada. They fell in love with the area because it reminded them of Italy, and the rest, as they say, is history, as the Ferrari-Carano brand is a highly regarded and acclaimed wine available nationwide.
Rhonda has over 40 years of experience in business management, marketing, product design and advertising. She received a B.S. in Food and Nutrition from the University of Nevada, Reno, and started her career in the hospitality industry in 1976 at the Eldorado, where she went on to become VP of Advertising and Public Relations for Eldorado Resorts, LLC. In 2014, Rhonda became the SVP of Brand Marketing and Creative Services responsible for implementing the Eldorado brand at all of the Eldorado Resorts properties. As of 2016, Rhonda semi-retired from Eldorado Resorts Inc. where she currently works on design interiors for the Reno properties.
Rhonda’s responsibilities expand to her other California properties, including Vintners Inn, a 78-room hotel in Santa Rosa, the highly regarded Sonoma County restaurant, John Ash & Co., The Front Room Bar & Lounge, River Vine Café and Vi La Vita Spa. Rhonda also owns a retail and wine tasting business in downtown Healdsburg, Seasons of the Vineyard Wine Shop, as well as a quaint, small winery in Anderson Valley, Lazy Creek Vineyards, known for its outstanding Pinot Noirs. Rhonda’s creative nature lends itself to the numerous expansion and renovation projects for these businesses.
Rhonda, a second generation Italian-American and a native of Reno, Nevada, grew up tending gardens and cooking with her nona, which was the beginning of her love for gardening and all things food and wine. Rhonda’s green thumb is evidenced by the beautiful gardens at Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery and Vintners Inn, which she designed.
